MEET THE PERSON BEHIND CREATE & COORDINATE

I'm a creative who learned that great ideas need more than creativity—they need coordination.

I'm Latoya Walker, a creative project manager, dancer, and actress based in Connecticut. For more than 30 years, I've trained as a dancer and spent more than 17 years teaching, directing, choreographing, producing, and developing creative programs. Along the way, I've learned something that every creative eventually discovers:

Having the vision is only the beginning.

Behind every production, performance, event, organization, or creative venture are countless moving pieces—people, schedules, deadlines, communication, logistics, resources, decisions, and unexpected problems that have to be managed before the creative vision can become reality. And often, the person with the vision is expected to manage all of it. I've been that person.

A CREATIVE WHO UNDERSTANDS CREATIVES

My career has taken me through many roles.

DANCER.
EDUCATOR.
CHOREOGRAPHER.
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR.
CREATIVE ENTREPRENUER

PRODUCER
CONSULTANT.
PROJECT MANAGER.

I've worked with dancers and educators, churches and ministries, schools and community organizations, artists and creative teams. I've developed workshops and courses, directed creative programs, consulted with dance ministries, and helped organizations establish effective structure around their work. I've also continued developing my own creative practice through dance, acting, film, and production.

My education and professional experiences have continued to expand that perspective. I graduated from the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts and continued my studies at LIU Brooklyn and Central Connecticut State University, developing my knowledge across dance, theatre, and sociology.

Professionally, I've had the opportunity to learn from and work under accomplished choreographers and organizations, experiences that have continued to shape the way I think about creativity, collaboration, leadership, and production. But the most valuable thing I've learned isn't from a particular technique or credential. It's how much work happens behind the scenes.

WHY CREATE & COORDINATE?

Creative people are often expected to be everything at once.

Artist + Producer + Project Manager + Administrator + Scheduler + Marketer + Problem Solver.

You may be incredibly clear about what you want to create—but that doesn't mean you have the time, capacity, systems, or desire to coordinate every detail required to make it happen. That's where I come in.

Create & Coordinate was built to help creative people move their ideas from vision to execution.

I bring the organizational structure, planning, communication, coordination, and follow-through that creative projects need—while respecting the creative vision that started the project in the first place. You shouldn't have to become less creative because your project requires more organization.

YOU CREATE. I COORDINATE.
I believe structure and creativity are not opposites.

  • The right structure can actually give creativity more room to breathe.

  • A clear timeline can reduce overwhelm.

  • A coordinated team can protect the creative process.

  • A well-organized production can make room for better ideas.

  • A defined plan can turn “one day” into a project that actually happens.

That's what I bring to the table.

I don't come into a project to take over your creative vision.

You bring the vision.
I help build the structure around it.

Let's coordinate your next project.

Have a creative vision that needs a plan?
